Mrs. Karen Pang
Math has always been Karen Pang’s favorite subject – even in elementary school, she would make up long division problems for herself, “just for fun!” She double majored in mathematics and math education at the University of Maryland, College Park, and upon graduation, started teaching high school math. She taught for a dozen years – first at Westlake High School in Charles County and then at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, MD.
Along the way, she met her husband and had three daughters. Eventually she stopped teaching math to be a stay-at-home-mom. Her youngest is entering kindergarten now, and she is so excited to teach math again!
She also loves to sing – she sang in an a cappella group in college and directed the CESJDS a cappella choir for 15 years. She grew up in Laurel, MD and attended Oseh Shalom synagogue. She currently resides in Columbia, MD.
